The Hairforce

Client: Dee Wright

Dee Wright of HairforceThe Hairforce is inspired by the epidemic of nits and lice in England, with 3 million children catching them every year. Not only are children of all ages affected, but also parents, grandparents and carers. Due to the growing numbers affected, and the ineffectiveness of the current products sold to combat lice infestation, entrepreneur Dee Wright launched The Hairforce to provide an easy solution for time-poor parents who struggle to effectively combat nits and lice on their own in the form of a hand clearing service.

At The Hairforce both parent and child are important clients.  Dee Wright and her team of “Lice Assassins” are not only extremely successful at clearing any infestation; they do so in a relaxed, positive and enjoyable way.  Sitting in a massage chair is both pampering and comfortable.  Children are offered access to computer games throughout the process to entertain and distract.  Every aspect of the service works to make both the child and the parents overcome the negative feelings this issue can generate.

As the first service in this product driven market, The Hairforce came to Centa for guidance in the launch of their business. Centa’s James Walsh provided help and support in refining the business plan; constructively commented on its content and revisions; assessed the research and marketing plans; reviewed and challenged the financials; and facilitated introductions to specialist advice and networking. James Walsh was also able to assist The Hairforce in applying for a start up grant and business support through the London Development Agency’s Business London: Start Up and Micro Business Support Programme.

For Dee working with Centa has been a positive experience, “Not only have they provided tangible assistance, the intangible support cannot be underestimated – the ability to just call and ask an opinion or share an idea is very valuable, as is the call to see how you are and how the business is coming along..”

This innovative company is already doing well, with a good customer base and a constant flow of new business. With aspirations for the The Hairforce to become first nationwide and then global, Centa has helped to guide Dee and her company down the right path to achieve this goal.
